AI in Games: How AI is Changing the Games Industry - 6th May

FilmEU is thrilled to host an open-to-all conference on May 6th, starting at 9h (WET), titled "AI in Games: How AI is Changing the Games Industry," dedicated to exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence in gaming. The program for this event will feature academic and industry representatives from both Portuguese and international backgrounds, coming together to discuss the potential of this groundbreaking technology in gaming. Additionally, Lusófona University will officially announce the new Master's program, "Artificial Intelligence for Games," focused on game programming and set to start in September 2024.

This lecture is part of the academic curriculum at the Universidade Lusófona, which offers comprehensive training for the gaming industry through its "Video Games" Bachelor's degree (covering Programming, Art, and Game Design) and the "Game Design and Playable Media" Master's program (specializing in Game Design).

The "AI in Games: How AI is Changing the Games Industry" event is organized by the AI for Games Master Program @ Lusófona University, Lisbon, aimed at bringing together industry professionals, academics, students, and enthusiasts to explore the current landscape of artificial intelligence in digital gaming. This event will delve into current trends, including procedural content generation, NPC behaviours, LLMs for interactive narratives, player profiles, automated testing in quality control, and mixed tools for initiative diagnostics. The goal is to discuss, showcase, and reflect on the current state of the industry concerning these emerging technologies and how educational programs in the national industry must adapt to these changes.
