The editorial board of the International Journal of Stereo & Immersive Media is pleased to announce the publication of its 2024 issue (Vol.8), featuring a diverse collection of eight scholarly articles.

The issue opens with a special invited paper by Emeritus Professor Nicholas Wade and an exclusive interview with Laurent Mannoni, commemorating the 30th anniversary of his landmark book, The Great Art of Light and Shadow: Archaeology of the Cinema.

The peer-reviewed section explores a range of compelling topics, including:

Francis Frith's stereoscopic photography in Egypt - analysed by Seth Thompson.

Keystone's misleading legends on colonial subjects - examined by Melody Davis.

The early history of stereoscopic photography in Angola - researched by Nuno Borges de Araújo.

Additionally, this issue presents a rare contemporary Lippmann stereo by Filipe Alves.

The cover features an evocative image of the storage rooms of the French Cinematheque, reflecting Mannoni's vision for a comprehensive museum dedicated to French cinema.
