In the Digital Animation degree we privilege the 3D but we don’t forget the considerable variety of techniques that animation has, neither the consistence they acquire when applied/invested in a good story. The Digital Animation students are encouraged to explore techniques or combinations of them to find a new look or a new approach on a theme or story. The degree was designed thinking in the different phases of the film development, wherein each of them offers a competence and a specialization expertise.

The Visual Arts degree is one of Universidade Lusófona projects in the field of culture and contemporary art and it specializes in Painting and Drawing. Everyone in the teaching staff is directly related to culture and art. The teachers of Plastic Arts and Drawing have a significantly artistic activity and are researchers in the area of Fine Arts. The degree is part of the School of Communication, Architecture, Arts and Information Technologies (ECATI), ensures that, as part of a dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration, the students interests are supported by tutors and technically assisted by specialists, that will allow diversified results in the media context.

Sound Science and Technology

The degree aims to provide students with technical and theoretical knowledge, and autonomy that will allow them to work and research professionally in areas such as: audio production and sound effects, namely, in the context of audio-visual production, multimedia and entertainment, sound arts production, audio post-production and sound effects in audio-visual and multimedia projects. Students will be given the opportunity to explore new opportunities opened by the digital applications area and, relationship between sound and social and environment structures will be further developed and researched.

Film, Video and Multimedia Communication

The general objective of this degree in Film, Video and Multimedia Communication is to promote a training that combines a rigorous theoretical education with a highly interdisciplinary training applied in the specialized fields. Throughout the course, the students will be constantly encouraged to experiment with technological and artistic aspects. The ultimate goal of this course is to train individuals that are technologically competent, as well as conceptually and artistically creative. Film, Video and Multimedia Communication course aims to train professionals in the areas of production and direction within the film and television industries, as well as the production and direction of multimedia on a conceptual and more experimental level, in addition to providing them with the basic generic skills in the areas of communication sciences, arts and design and information systems, computing and multimedia communication.

The degree in Design, which has two specialization branches: Communication Design and Equipment and Space Design, aims to train creative Designers and technicians in areas such as communication, graphic arts, industrial, equipment, space and environment. It is intended the enhancement and development of students’ conceptual, creative and technical skills, to meet the market demands, as well as suggest more coherent alternatives to existing problems. We have created thus a pedagogy that aims to develop in students the ability to respond to the problems of design, linking creative thinking with logical analysis, and reporting to the framework required by today's world - respect for the environment and human dimension (in its various forms), in search of a more inclusive and livable world for all, using new technologies and materials available.

The degree and its main purpose is to offer theoretical and practical formation, at a very specialized and professional level, of technological and artistic nature in the photography field. The main pedagogical objective is the promotion of an education that combines a rigorous theoretical component with an interdisciplinary education applied in their specialized areas. During their degree students are constantly stimulated for the technological and artistic experimentation, having as a final objective the formation of individuals technologically competent and conceptually and artistically creative.
