Creating Believable Game Worlds - 5th April 13h CET

Joachim Vleminckx is guiding the art team through the deep dungeons of game creation since 2014 for Larian Studios. Larian Studios was a small game company in Belgium till their first crowdfunded success, Divinity: Original Sin, won over 150 awards and nominations and grow out of one of the best RPG game studios in the world.

Joachim worked as an Environment artist for almost 10 years before he started to work as an ART Director for the successful game Divinity: Original Sin 2. This game was launched with a 93 Metacritic rating, as well as over 160 awards (Including the Bafta for Best Multiplayer Game) and counting! Thanks to the success of these two games, the Larian family has grown to over 300 people around the world, working in Ghent, Quebec, Dublin, Kuala Lumpur, Guildford and Barcelona studios.

Currently Joachim is working on the game, Baldur’s Gate 3 that is in Early Access.

Making any game is an adventure. Joachim will talk about his art adventures in creating believable game worlds for international RPG games.
